Installing Athena

Just copy and paste

Athena does not write to or read from registry. Installing Athena is therefore as simple as creating a directory, e.g. C:\Athena, and copy files into it. Athena will run in any folder as long as the two essential Cygwin dynamic link libraries (dll), cygwin1.dll and cygz.dll, are also in the folder. (Important: Those dll's must be of the same version as those used to compile Athena. If you have copies of those dll's in System32 folder, you must remove them.)

Windows native builds

Situation has changed somewhat with the introduction of Windows native compile using C++ programing interface. More dll's have been added to the Athena package. If you were to compile with Cygwin, you do not need those. However, there is no harm to keep those in the folder.
