Client Data Folder

If you do not use Data folder, skip this guide and move on to Custom GRF.

Purpose:

The main function of this folder is to over-ride settings in KRO GRFs. For that reason, hexed executables (hexed exe) are patched to read Data folder first and GRFs next. Once a hexed exe has loaded certain files, it will not load files with the same names when it sees them again.

Getting it

You can use the same client Data folder as server Data folder. Archives, usually in RAR format, are available from download mirrors, including eaMirror. Unless you are into custom items, there is no compelling reason to make changes to those archives.

Important:

Repeated conversion between Korean and English and Data folder unpacked from a GRF might cause some files to be non-readable to Athena.
